Choir Support Group

Chester Cathedral Choir Support Group needs your help

Why?

The Choir Support Group funds as far as it can the trips made by the choir and the commercial recordings it makes.  We do this mostly by selling refreshments at concerts held at the cathedral during the year.  If the parents of each child in the choir take a turn to help serve refreshments, only a couple of duties are needed from each.

Where?
The cathedral refectory, usually between 7pm and 9pm.

Who co-ordinates?
Geoff Fitch, who has had a connection with the choir and the cathedral for many years, and a small band of willing helpers.

What?
The job is very easy, doesn’t take long and is actually good fun.

  • We move the refectory tables and chairs to the sides of the room.
  • Plastic cups and/or wine glasses are set out and biscuits are arranged on trays.  Switch the urn on!
  • Then wait for the interval to pour tea, coffee or wine and the audience help themselves to milk and sugar.
  • Put the chairs and tables back as we found them and leave for home.

But I…….

Children can help….bring your other half…..you can park in Abbey Square….other parents who are ‘experienced’ will be on duty with you….it is a good way of meeting other parents.
